Longevity is a wonderful gene to have. I am blessed to come from two families where my grandmothers and great-aunts have lived well into their eighties, nineties, and hundreds! Earlier this afternoon the extended Menghini clan (which included Jared and I, my mom and dad, Patrice and Olivia, my dad's Aunt Nella and Aunt Margaret, his cousins, and their children and grandchildren) came together to celebrate Aunt Nella's 100th Birthday. I have very fond memories of Aunt Nella; some of my earliest include visiting her house in Queens, and the cool upstairs attic-room. As a teenager I was all to happy to play May I with her, my Grandma and Grandpa for hours on end. Her personality is always very cheery and she is very funny. We were so happy to be a part of this lovely luncheon, thrown by Aunt Nella's sons and daughters-in-law, which celebrated life and family over good food, good wine, and laughter. Happy Birthday Aunt Nella and many more!
Happy 100th Birthday Aunt Nella!
