Annalisa and Max's Wedding

I have been meaning to post this for ages, but unfortunately am just getting to it now. In mid-October we travelled to Vermont to celebrate Annalisa and Max's wedding, a fabulous family affair! Your own wedding day is one of the greatest days of your life, as my and Jared's wedding day was, and we had a blast celebrating with family and friends. But the weddings where you can relax, observe the celebration, take in the details, dance, and visit with family and friends, and truly enjoy the evening, are the weddings of others, as Annalisa and Max's was.

We drove to Vermont on Friday afternoon and had an enjoyable ride through New York and Southern Vermont, with gorgeous fall foliage and NO traffic along the Taconic State Parkway (until a very unfortunate fender bender 15 minutes from Stratton Mountain Resort, which made me, Margaret, late to participate in the rehearsal.) Jared and I made it to the second half though, and by the time we were onto our second glass of wine at the rehearsal dinner had thoroughly calmed down following our traveling escapade, and had begun to numb our neck and back soreness. Dinner was hosted by Max's family at The Fire Tower Restaurant & Tavern, where close family members and friends, and the bridal party of Max and Annalisa toasted the couple. After dinner, and a few drinks at the bar, we turned in. Jared and I rented a small studio - with a MURPHY BED! - in the Long Trail House (one of the condominium complexes) which was perfect for the two of us and our two night stay.

On Saturday morning we were up early, grabbed breakfast burritos from the Stratton Mountain Deli in Stratton Village, before I met up with Annalisa, the Vermont Anderson's, Grandma, Annalis'a other bridesmaids to have our hair done and get ready for the day. It was nice to visit with everyone throughout the morning. As mid-afternoon came around and we finished getting ready, we took a few group photos before heading to Stratton's Chapel of the Snows for the ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful - with many personal touches specific to Annalisa and Max's personalities. After the ceremony and a few more wedding party photos, celebrating began the the Stratton Mountain Club. After dinner, we enjoyed the evening dancing and laughing, drinking and enjoying dessert and an awesome sweets table. Some of the Anderson cousins extended the evening at Mulligan's, one of the bars in Stratton Mountain Village, into the early hours of the morning. With mild-hangovers (the mark of a great night, right?!) we were on our way back to New York midday Sunday, another great wedding in the books.

Enjoy some photos from weekend below!
